RAIL NETWORK

Wałbrzych is a railway junction through which railway line No. 274 Wrocław – Zgorzelec and railway line No. 281 Wałbrzych – Kłodzko run, considered one of the most beautiful in Poland. It is on this line, between Wałbrzych and Jedlin – Zdrój, that the longest railway tunnel in Poland is over 1,600 m long.

From 2016, the Wałbrzych Express Intercity Premium Pendolino train runs on the route Warsaw – Wrocław – Wałbrzych – Jelenia Góra. Thanks to this, you can get to the capital in four and a half hours

ROAD NETWORK

Among these three cities, Wałbrzych plays the role of a road junction for the entire region. National road No. 35 and five provincial roads cross there:

  • National Road No. 35 (Wrocław – Wałbrzych – Golińsk – border with the Czech Republic),

  • Provincial Road No. 367 (Wałbrzych – Jelenia Góra),

  • Voivodeship road No. 379 (Wałbrzych – Świdnica),

  • Provincial Road No. 375 (Wałbrzych – Stare Bogaczowice),

  • Voivodeship road no. 376 (Wałbrzych – Kamienna Góra),

  • Provincial Road No. 381 (Wałbrzych – Kłodzko),

MOTORWAYS AND EXPRESSWAYS

One of the most important European roads connecting the east and west of Europe, the A4 motorway is located about 50 km from Wałbrzyc. Highway roads are key to the region’s development. Works related to the renovation of the S3 road and the construction of its fragments are being completed. As a Polish part of the European route E 65 will connect Sweden with Greece, and for the entire region it will be the most important road corridor outside the A4 motorway.

In 2018, the Polish government presented the concept of connecting the southern areas of Lower Silesia with two expressways S5 and S8. All municipalities of the Wałbrzych Agglomeration make every effort to ensure that the route to these roads is as favorable as possible.

BUS CONNECTIONS

Using this form of public transport is available, easy and cheap for residents. All cities have modernized bus stops and introduced facilities for the disabled.

AIR TRANSPORT

Air transport is served by the international airport in Wroclaw, which has a large number of air connections. It is located about 60 km from Wałbrzych:

  • Airport Nicolaus Copernicus: Wroclaw-Strachowice,

  • Aircraft landing pad: Świebodzice.

WATER TRANSPORT

The nearest river ports are in Wrocław, Głogów, Opole and Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
