If you are interested in culture and art, you can take advantage of Wałbrzych’s rich offer: art galleries, two excellent theatres, a philharmonic, a Porcelain Museum, and the Old Mine Science and Art Centre await spectators, tourists and visitors. But if you prefer recreation, walks and fun in nature, then city park Jana III Sobieskiego is ideal place to stay with children and spend some time together with family.
However, Wałbrzych and nearby is a real paradise for mountain bikers. The local MTB Zone is the best cycling-related, regularly-awarded tourist spot in Poland. Just jump on your bike and check it out. But that’s not all, this area is a real land of monuments… and it is not just Książ Castle. You can find a lot of medieval castles, Renaissance palaces, fortifications, and landmarks from World War II. Secrets and adventures are our specialties.
But if you’re interested in other outdoor sports, you can try paragliding, equestrian, paintball, off-road and mountain biking, and cross-country and downhill skiing. And that’s not all. In Wałbrzych there are more than forty clubs and sports associations where you can train in individual and team sports: from athletics, karate, taekwondo, aikido, cycling, weightlifting, wrestling, basketball, football, volleyball and more.
However, if you want to sweat, feel freedom, and enjoy the magnificent landscapes, then you must visit the amazing observation towers on the city park Jana III Sobieskiego, Borowa, Trójgarb and Wielka Sowa Mountains.
It is worth remembering that the clues associated with the amber chamber, the golden train, and the mysteries of project “Riese” all lead to Wałbrzych.
